Start by popping 8 cups of popcorn and place it in a bowl lightly sprayed with cooking spray.
Place butter, sugar, and corn syrup in a pot over medium high heat.
Once it is all melted, add the 3 oz. gelatin.
Whisk continually until it reaches a full boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring continually.
Remove from heat and pour over the popcorn.
Stir gently to cover popcorn in candy.
Spread the popcorn out on the cookie sheet and add sprinkles if using.
Place in the oven for 12 minutes at 250 degrees.
Remove from oven and cool.
Break pieces apart and serve.
