Grandma Mildred's Blueberry Salad

This Jello Salad is light and refreshing. It is full of yummy blueberries and pineapple and topped with a sweet and tangy cream cheese topping.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box blackberry jello large, or 2 small
  • 2 cups water boiling
  • 1 can blueberry pie filling large
  • 1 can crushed pineapple large, undrained
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • chopped nuts, mint leaves, fresh blueberries for garnish, if desired

Equipment

  • 9x13 or smaller pan
  • Hand mixer

Method
 

  1. Dissolve the jello in the water.
  2. Add the pineapple and the pie filling.
  3. Pour into a 9x13 or smaller pan and let set up in the refrigerator.
  4. Cream together the cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, and vanilla.
  5. Spread over the top of the set jello.
  6. Chopped nuts can be sprinkled over this, if desired.
  7. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
