Grandma Coco's Fudgy Frosted Brownies

These brownies are rich and decadent! They are quick to throw together and are a real crowd pleaser.

Equipment

  • Stand mixer or hand mixer
  • 9x13 pan

Ingredients
  

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1/2 cup cocoa we recommend Dutch processed
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs large or extra large
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour

Frosting:

  • 6 Tbsp butter softened
  • 1/4 cup cocoa we recommend Dutch processed
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • dash salt
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 3 cups powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • In a pan or microwave safe bowl, heat butter until melted.
  • Add the cocoa and mix well.
  • Mix in the 2 cups of sugar
  • Add the salt and vanilla.
  • Beat 4 eggs and add to the batter and mix to combine.
  • Mix in the flour until incorporated. Batter will be thick.
  • Spread batter evenly in a greased 9x13 pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes until toothpick comes out mostly clean.

Frosting:

  • Beat the softened butter and cocoa together until smooth.
  • Add vanilla, salt and milk and mix well. Slowly add the powdered sugar until desired consistency is reached.

  • Once brownies have cooled, spread frosting evenly over them. Slice and serve.
