I made these apothecary jars with a friend years ago and I absolutely love them. They are so fun to change out for the different holidays and seasons!
For Spring/Easter this year, I decided to do something VERY simple. These Easter Apothecary Jars were inspired in the middle of the night when I do my best thinking. I am currently 32 weeks pregnant with baby #4 and my pregnancy insomnia is going strong! One night I remembered that I had a bundle of 3 small carrots in the garage and knew they would be perfect in the jars. I sat awake and thought about it for WAY TOO LONG.
SPRING apothecary jars:
I had planned to use soil in the bottom of the jars, which would be adorable, but didn’t have any so I used some small rocks I did have. Don’t you think they turned out so cute? My kids noticed them the minute they walked in the door from school and were excited that I had changed things for the new season. They are so ready for Spring! We have had crazy weather here lately. A couple of Sundays ago it was super warm and sunny and the kids ran to put shorts on. The next day we got several inches of snow. Today was THE BEST day so far this year. It was in the mid-seventies and so SUNNY!!! Makes my heart happy to feel that warm sun.
DIY APOTHECARY JARS:
These jars are a fairly simple craft to make. We bought the jars at Hobby Lobby. The two jars on the outsides are the same size and the jar in the middle is taller. We used E6000 glue to attach thrift store/yard sale found tops to the lids. The bottoms were also thrifted. We combined lots of different things and it looked way crazy before we painted them. After the glue had dried overnight we spray-painted the lids with toppers as well as the bottoms. This color is so pretty and I feel it is neutral enough for all the seasons and holidays. I may paint them soon just to switch things up though. After the paint was dry we used E6000 glue again to glue the jars onto the bases. That’s it! That glue is amazing and has held so well.
ACCESSORIZE:
I wanted to keep the apothecary jars pretty simple this time and make them a little different than I have done in the past, so I just tied some ribbon and tulle around the jars. Usually, I tie the ribbon around the spindles on the bottom. These are against a wall, so I just used clear tape on the middle jar to hold the ribbon in place. Shhh…no one will know.
And I decided to let some cute little rabbits play by the jars…they do LOVE carrots after all.
Do you decorate for the holidays? If so, you should definitely make some cute apothecary jars, they are so fun to change around for different holidays. Check out how we styled them for Halloween.

I am IN LOVE with these! I have some jars that I purchased ages ago in Utah on a visit... need to actually do something with them and glam them up. I love your addition of thrifted finials and candle stick bases!
