Here’s a little Throwback Thursday Hairdo for you! It doesn’t get much more simple than this Two Rope Braid Headband and it is so cute!
How we created the Two Rope Braid Headband:
We started by getting the front of the hair slightly damp and then we parted in on the side and combed down each way ear to ear.
Next we created two rope braids. Start the first one next to the part and make another part about an inch or so over so you have a little box of hair. Split that hair into two sections and twist each section the same direction and then together the opposite direction. I made sure that where I began twisting the two different rope braids was not right on top of each other, so one more toward the back and one more toward the front of the head so that they lay parallel. Get it?
I used some hairspray to keep the fly away situation under control. 🙂 Now just hold the braids out of the way while you comb the hair down smooth on each side, then lay the braid down and bring the hair from the “headband” down and around on each side of the head to the base of the neck and secure with a small elastic. I had Emma hold the rest of her hair out of the way while I secured the elastic.
That should hold the headband in place and you are done unless you want to add a cute bow or flower like we did. So easy!
She was so dang adorable at this age…and just a little SASSY!
She called this look “crazy eyes!” LOVE her.
