One of the very first things I ever made in my Instant Pot was rice. It is quick and easy and I like that I don’t have to babysit it while it cooks. A lot of people ask what the point of using the Instant Pot is when it takes time to come to pressure, then cook, then to release the pressure. My answer is always the same, I don’t have to sit and watch it and make sure the temperature is just right and I know that it will turn out perfect. You will love the simplicity of this Instant Pot Rice. Give it a try!
What you need to make Instant Pot rice:
- 1 1/2 cups rice
- 2 cups water or broth
Let’s get cookin’:
We used Uncle Ben’s long grain rice and I LOVE Better Than Bouillon for broth. You can also just use water or get creative and add cilantro and garlic. I suggest adding a little salt if you don’t use the broth.
Measure out 1.5 cups of rice.
Rinse the rice well using a mesh strainer.
Pour 2 cups water or broth into Instant Pot liner.
Add the rinsed rice to pot as well.
Close the lid and make sure the valve is set to sealing. Cook on high pressure for 3 minutes.
Let the Instant Pot natural release pressure for 10 minutes.
Turn valve to venting and release any remaining pressure. It is safe to open the lid when the pin on top has dropped. This rice is perfect every time. We hope you love it as much as we do!
That’s it! Easy peasy recipe. We love our Instant Pot Rice with our Instant Pot Apricot Chicken.
