INSTANT POT Apple Cinnamon Steel Cut Oats

Sharing is caring!

It doesn’t get easier than this recipe! Do you love steel cut oats but don’t like standing and stirring FOREVER while they cook? If so, this recipe for Instant Pot Apple Cinnamon Steel Cut Oats is for you!

To make INSTANT POT Apple Cinnamon Steel Cut Oats you will need:

  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/4 C. raisins or dried cranberries, optional (I used dried cranberries because I LOVE them.)
  • 3 large apples, peeled, cored and diced. We love Granny Smith for their tartness, but use what you have.
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • pinch of salt

Let’s get cookin’:

My Pampered Chef Apple Peeler, Corer & Slicer makes preparing these apples so quick and easy! I love that I get very even pieces of apples by using it. Just cut the peeled, cored and sliced apple into smaller pieces.

I used my 6 quart Instant Pot for this recipe. Add all ingredients to the Instant Pot and give it a stir. My Pampered Chef Quick Cooker is also perfect for the recipe!

UNDER PRESSURE:

Close the lid on the Instant Pot and make sure the valve on top is turned to sealing. Use the manual button, or pressure cook on high pressure for 4 minutes. Let natural release for 5 minutes and then quick release any pressure that is left. To quick release just carefully turn the valve on top to venting. The texture is a little chewy, which is how I like them. If you prefer them less chewy just add a couple minutes to the cook time. That’s it! Your oats will look something like this.

BREAKFAST IS SERVED:

Because I used the tart, Granny Smith apples this time I added a little brown sugar before eating but that is totally up to you! Such a hearty, healthy breakfast.

Sometimes I like to add cold milk over my oats. YUM!
