Heart Rope Braid with Pull-Through Braid

Sharing is caring!

Here’s a fun hairdo we did for the month of LOVE recently. 🙂 You could definitely do this Heart Rope Braid with Pull-Through Braid look any time though.

Start off by parting the hair from ear to ear and pull the top up and secure the ponytail with an elastic.

Next loosen the elastic and make a hole in the middle of ponytail.

You can use a topsy-tail for this but I just used my finger. Pull the hair from the ponytail up through the hole.

Pull the hair to tighten the pony tail and separate hair into two sections. Split each section into two pieces to create a rope braid. To create the rope braid you simply twist both sections of hair the same direction, separately, and then twist them the opposite direction together. I apologize that I didn’t take a picture of that step. You will also want to pull the rest of the hair up into a high ponytail.

Take the two rope braids and bring down and secure to the ponytail with an elastic. We used a bobby pin on each side of the top of the heart shape to secure it. Next split the hair from the big ponytail in to a top and bottom section.

Take the bottom section of hair and pull up through the ponytail. Once again, you can use a topsy-tail for this step but I just used my finger.

Hopefully you can see what we did there.

Now split the hair from the top pony into two sections and bring down and secure BEHIND the bottom ponytail.

You can wait to “pouf” the sections out until the end, but I did it as I went. Just tug slightly on each section to make it fuller.

Now take the top ponytail and split again and secure under the bottom ponytail. Pouf out the sections and repeat the steps until you are out of hair.

We finished off the bottom by adding some curls with the flat iron and added a little bow.

Let us know if you give this Heart Rope Braid with Pull-Through Braid a try!

Remember to PIN it for later. 🙂
