Fresh SQUEEZED Strawberry Lemonade

Sharing is caring!

If you loved our Fresh Squeezed Lemonade you are really going to LOVE this Fresh Squeezed STRAWBERRY Lemonade. With just four simple ingredients, including fresh strawberries, you will be going back for more.

INGREDIENTS FOR OUR FRESH SQUEEZED STRAWBERRY LEMONADE:

  • 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice, approximately 4 large or 6 small lemons
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup pureed strawberries
  • 8 cups cold water

We will start by juicing the lemons. To release the juice, roll your lemons on the counter first and then slice in half. You can use an electric juicer, a manual citrus squeezer or just your hand.

TIPS ON JUICING LEMONS:

  • Choose lemons with a smoother skin because they usually have a thinner rind. Bumpier lemons have a thicker rind which results in less lemon flesh and juice.
  • Lemons that are a little soft, but not squishy, will already be juicy.
  • Lemons that are heavier have more juice.
  • Rolling your lemons on the counter with your palm before juicing helps to break down the membranes so you will get more juice from the fruit. This works with any citrus fruit you are juicing.
  • Warming lemons or other citrus fruits for about 15-20 seconds in the microwave before juicing will also help you to get more juice.
  • When using a manual citrus juicer, place the lemon cut side down so the juice can go through the holes, even though it looks backwards.

Let’s get the strawberries ready. Wash them well and cut the greens off the top and slice in half. My cute nephew always eats the entire strawberry and used to ask why nobody else ate the “salad” on the strawberries. Green equals salad. 🙂

We used a magic bullet to puree the strawberries, but you can also just use a blender. Add the strawberries and about half the lemon juice and blend well.

MIXING TIME:

Pour the lemon juice and strawberry puree into a pitcher and add the sugar. Stir well. We like our lemonade with just a little pulp, but if you don’t, go ahead and run the lemon juice through a mesh strainer. Make sure there are no seeds.

Next pour the water in and continue to stir until the sugar is dissolved. If you would like more potent strawberry lemonade, start with 6 cups of water and taste test. Make sure to top it all off with some ice!

HELPFUL HINT:

If you are making this Fresh Squeezed Strawberry Lemonade for a party, try freezing some in ice cubes to add when ready to serve instead of plain ice cubes that can water down the lemonade when they melt. You can also add slices of strawberry or lemons to the ice cubes to make them cute.

We love this Fresh Squeezed Strawberry Lemonade, especially on those hot summer days! We hope you love it too. And if you are a lemon fan, make sure to check out our Sunshine Lemon Bars, you wont’ regret it.
