Fall Buffalo Check Welcome Wreath Tutorial

Sharing is caring!

This Fall Buffalo Check Welcome Wreath is super simple and quick to put together, and we think it’s adorable!

Fall Buffalo Check Welcome Wreath. Navy and White Buffalo Check fabric on a round foam wreath form with a red, wooden welcome sign across it. Felt, fall colored leaves along the bottom with three velvet pumpkins in navy blue, white, and gray.

What we used to make our Fall Buffalo Check Welcome Wreath:

  • foam wreath form
  • wooden cut out Welcome sign
  • red paint, we used Annie Sloan Emperor’s Silk
  • 3 small velvet pumpkins in navy, white, and gray
  • Felt leaf stickers
  • Navy and white buffalo check fabric
  • Paintbrush
  • Hot glue gun and hot glue

We found our wreath form and welcome sign at Hobby Lobby. The cute pumpkins and leaves we found at Target. You can find similar items at any craft store.

Let’s make it:

The first thing we did was paint the wooden welcome sign red so that it could dry while we put the rest together. We love the contrast of the red against the blue and white check.

Time to cover the wreath:

It doesn’t take much fabric to cover the wreath. We used about 1/4 of a yard and cut it into strips. We took the strips and wrapped around and used hot glue to attach to the back. Just make sure that you always end on the back with glue to the front looks nice and overlap the fabric a little.

Put it all together:

To finish up, we placed the leaves where we thought they looked good on the bottom inside of the wreath and hot glued them in place, then we glued the pumpkins on top of the leaves. Make sure to hold each piece down until the glue dries so they are all secure.

Once the paint is dry on the welcome sign you can glue it where it looks good. Again, make sure to hold it tightly in place until the glue dries.

We looped and tied a piece of scrap ribbon on the top to hang it. That’s it! So easy and cute!

[…] My favorites were definitely the peach plaid and the floral striped ones. The boys sure loved the navy blue buffalo check fabric that I had leftover from my Fall Buffalo Check Welcome Wreath. […]
